The Nature of Prosperity event, May 23, London

Date: 2.30 pm on 23 May 2016.
Venue: Central Hall, Westminster, London.

The ESRC-funded Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity (CUSP) invites you to join Dr Rowan Williams, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, in conversation with long-time peace and environmental activist Satish Kumar, to consider 'What can prosperity mean in an age of environmental and social limits?'.

The Centre's vision for sustainable prosperity is 'one in which people everywhere have the capability to flourish as human beings – within the ecological and resource constraints of a finite planet. Our work will explore not just the economic aspects of this challenge, but also its social, political and philosophical dimensions.'

The CUSP is a multi-disciplinary initiative, led by Professor Tim Jackson from the University of Surrey and working in collaboration with a variety of academic and non-academic partners.

The event is free to attend but please register on the CUSP website.

The event is the first in a series of public debates hosted by CUSP.
